Jasiri X Drops “Don’t Let Them Get Away With Murder”

Underground hip hop artist Jasiri X released “Don’t Let Them Get Away With Murder.” Channeling the rooted political spirit of hip hop, Jasiri X’s latest single is an anthem of sorts, with lyrics meant to activate revolutionary change in racial justice dialogue.

Paired with emotional footage of protests for Mike Brown, Eric Garner, and other Black people viciously murdered by police, vigilantes, and other operatives of white supremacy, the visual element further creates a spirit of urgency.

Ironically, the song dropped on the same day when the Dept. of Justice announced it will not press civil rights charges against notorious vigilante George Zimmerman—a fact Jasiri X addressed himself on Twitter.

I had the privilege of seeing Jasiri X perform live in Ferguson. His electrifying presence and rhythmic comfort resonate deeply. His artistry is approaching mastery, and his latest is emblematic of his developmental creative growth. Watch the magic below.
